ScottishFootball.online now has a portable streaming system which allows us to stream anytime anywhere.
A very simple and easy solution to stream any event, either indoors or outdoors. There are a variety of low cost cameras that can be used for streaming. To tie in with this you will need an OTT Streaming platform, come and join us on Scottish Football online (we can help any organisation outwith Scotland as well !)
SFO has over 12 years of live streaming at football grounds all around Scotland. Our next stage is a low cost portable streaming unit which allows much greater flexibility and allows clubs to stream their own games. No need to tie into expensive contracts.
This setup can now work with only one or two people: a commentator (if required) and video production operator.
What kit do we recommend:
-- a PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) camera with POE
-- POE LAN power supply
-- Microphone
-- Laptop
-- LAN router with built 4G connection (optional)
-- Stream Deck (used to manage the camera and the stream titles/scores)
-- Vmix or OBS video production software
-- Dahua SD22404T-GN 4mp Mini IP PTZ 4x Optical Zoom 2.7-11mm lens
-- D-Link DWR-921/B 4G/3G LTE Unlocked Multi WAN Wireless N300 Mobile Broadband Router with 4-Port Ethernet
Multiple cameras can be provided and at a distance using WiFi extenders or POE longer length LAN cables.
We have some intial test footage below from Kelty Hearts vs Falkirk on Saturday 23rd February 2024. The idea for this footage is to give an idea of the video recording. We need to investigate further the use of the movement and camera settings to optimise and provide a better output.
There are further videos giving some examples of using the cameras.
The LAN router allow the connection of one or more cameras to the same network as ther are 4 LAN ports. You do not need this, it is essentially for away games. Use a direct LAN cable or wifi where possible.
A built in 4G SIM card provides online connectivity or there is a WAN cable port to allow local broadband connectivity.
Some sample scenes from the Ayr United game at East End Park, 2nd February 20204. This camera is situated at the eastern end of the North East Stand. The first shot is down the the West stand (Norrie McCathie stand) at the far end of the pitch.
